IBS strengthens customer base in Electrical vertical with iconic Australian small appliances brand Sunbeam as its latest sales winPress Release 2007-12-18 IBS (International Business Systems) has signed an agreement with well-known Australian electrical appliances Sunbeam Corporation Ltd for the installation of IBS software. This agreement includes the delivery of IBS Enterprise software, hardware and professional services. The system will be deployed at the head-office at Botany and their distribution centre at Minto. A fully owned subsidiary of Australian diversified industrial, GUD Holdings Limited, Sunbeam has been manufacturing quality small appliances since 1921. At 180 employees strong, Sunbeam has an excellent history of being responsible for some of the most innovative products to hit the Australian market. Sunbeam was looking to replace its existing system with a single integrated ERP solution that would best meet its business requirements and the market demands and challenges of the electrical products industry. This includes the need for flexibility, dealing with long lead-times and margin pressure. The capability of the system to track products throughout the supply chain and to satisfy major retailers’ requirements for electronic trading (such as GS1net) was also critical.
Sunbeam undertook a thorough vendor selection process including business requirements fit and presentation of critical business processes. IBS was selected based on the functionality of IBS Enterprise, its in-depth industry knowledge, cultural fit and IBS strong customer references. After evaluating all potential vendors, Sunbeam felt that IBS software showed the most potential in terms of adding value to its business and maximizing its return on investment (ROI), based on its proven track record of successful software implementations for other established brands in the electrical products industry. These include Miele, Maxell, Remington, Electrolux and Rexel. IBS develops supply chain management solutions for the manufacturing and wholesale/distribution industries, and provides software, services and hardware to industry sectors such as electrical, pharmaceutical, food, beverage, consumer durables, chemicals and industrial supplies. The IBS modules that will be implemented with Sunbeam include Sales, Purchasing, Inventory Planning and Optimization, Warehouse Management, Shipment tracking, Financials, Reporting etc. Sunbeam anticipates the benefits it will experience post-implementation include an optimized inventory and supply chain, the streamlining of business processes organization-wide, greater supply chain visibility, resulting in improved efficiency and customer service. This will provide Sunbeam with a strong technology platform for future growth. For more information contact: Rajiv Parrab
