IBS enjoys record success at London book fair 2008

IBS has announced it received unprecedented interest at the London Book Fair. The show itself was the busiest yet, with thousands of publishers, distributors, authors, editors and agents bulging the aisles. The buzz around the show was very much to do with technology issues, with digital content, eBooks and on-line selling being the major hot topics.

Mike Irving, VP Publishing for IBS, comments, “This year’s book fair seems to have gone by in a flash. We had scores of excellent meetings on our stand and have achieved some excellent new contacts and cemented some existing ones. While it is certainly a difficult time for businesses globally, there was a definite buzz amongst the publishing fraternity and I fully expect some business to be done on the back of some of our meetings.”

The new look stand has moved to a very prominent position in the main exhibition hall and had live demonstrations being held three times a day. Each of these attracted significant interest and was well attended. IBS also carried out a survey on the stand and generated a number of interesting statistics covering publishers’ opinions on a host of important industry trends.

Mike Irving concludes, “Overall, we are delighted with the show. I am most pleased that the level of interest on our stand shows that IBS is now very much a part of this industry.
