IBS in Iberia, subsidiary of the IBS Group, worldwide leading provider of supply chain management software has signed a contract with Librerías Bertrand that covers the implementation of the IBS supply chain software solution in Spain to support its new chain of bookstores.

Librerías Bertrand acquired the IBS supply chain software to support all operations of its business, including advanced integration modules that streamline the integration processes of the different agents in the supply chain, emphasizing areas like communication, data integration, planning and forecasting. The complete IBS supply chain software solution will be implemented namely modules for retail and points of sales, CRM, distribution, warehouse and inventory control, procurement and financials.
IBS supply chain software will allow Librerias Bertrand to optimize warehouse management, reduce costs, shorten delivery times, improve customer service and efficiency of both internal and external processes and streamline information management. IBS supply chain software advanced functionality for flexible pricing models and automated business processes will allow Librerías Bertrand to conduct its business operations in a more efficiently way. An automated returns process is vital in the book distribution industry, where daily returns are the norm; this will also be an area were the IBS supply chain software will assure Bertrand a new way of working, focusing simplified processes and procedures for returns handling that will save operational costs.
Aiming to strengthen its position in the European book retail market, Circulo de Leitores acquired Livrarias Bertrand in Portugal in June 2006. As a result of this acquisition and its knowledge on the retail industry, the company is now expanding into Spain by starting up a new chain of bookstores.
