Finnish Bang & Bonsomer chooses IBS ERP solutionNews & Events 2007-01-30 IBS provides the Bang & Bonsomer Group, a leading distributor of chemical specialities, with an ERP solution, which will support the new business strategy of Bang & Bonsomer. Bang & Bonsomer aims to manage its customer and principal interface more efficiently, to recognize new business opportunities as well as harmonize the company’s international operations. Implementing the changes required new, more effective tools.
The IBS ERP system meets the challenges of Bang & Bonsomer’s new business strategy in supply chain management.
According to Johan von Knorring, President of the Bang & Bonsomer Group, the company is actively looking for new business opportunities that support profitable growth. Bang & Bonsomer needs to recognize the clients and principals for which it can provide added value and to build up its supply chain.
The IBS Enterprise 6.0 ERP solution will replace Bang & Bonsomer’s current solution, also delivered by IBS. The new system is more extensive and advanced. Existing Financials, Distribution, Analyser and Inventory Control applications will be upgraded to the latest versions. In addition to this, the IBS Distribution module will be expanded to cover efficient supply chain management and delivery planning.
Bang & Bonsomer focused on the future challenges of business growth, rather than on information technology, when planning the system architecture. Another focus was on Service Oriented Architecture or SOA, which is based on giving users the right tools to support their business, emphasizing results instead of application knowledge.
According to Johan von Knorring, Bang & Bonsomer also considered other suppliers, but selected IBS, which has been a reliable partner.
”The solution IBS delivered to us earlier is used in all our offices and the users are familiar with it. The software has been specially developed to meet the needs of our industry, and it can also be used for online orders,” says Johan von Knorring.
The system will be implemented this spring in Finland and Russia and later in 2007 in Bang & Bonsomer’s other offices in the Baltic countries, Russia, the Ukraine, Belarus and Kazakhstan. All countries will adopt the same integrated system. However, national needs concerning, for example, governmental regulations are also taken into consideration. The main localization challenge for the Group is to have IBS Enterprise work with local accounting software.
