IBS receives Quality Assessment confirming SCOR Compliance

News & Events 2005-10-13

At the Annual Supply Chain Council Conference in Vienna, IBS has announced to delegates that it has received Quality Assessment acknowledgment from the Supply Chain Council (SCC) for compatibility with its leading performance measurement, benchmarking and enhancement methodology, the Supply Chain Operations Reference (SCOR) Model Release 7.0.

The assessment confirms the SCC’s acknowledgment that IBS is well positioned to support organisations in the implementation of SCOR related business processes, performance metrics and best practices. The SCOR model is the supply chain industry de facto standard model for providing Business Process Modelling data, metrics for evaluating Performance Management and Best Practices information derived from practitioners’ experience. It is entirely vendor and technology independent and is the only real independent in-depth reference model for the complete supply chain of all companies.

IBS is the first company to be acknowledged by the SCC’s Quality Assessment Programme Review for SCOR 7.0 for its IBS Enterprise 6.0 ERP and supply chain management software solution. The assessment showed that IBS provides the ability to blend system functionalities with an understanding of business needs and operational processes. It also confirms IBS’ overall ability to support end users in running the business processes the SCC describes as best practices.

Enrico Camerinelli, the Supply Chain Council’s European Director and Chief Analyst, comments, “The compliance with the SCOR model is not a mere branding or marketing exercise, it underpins IBS’ company-wide approach to ensuring its customers achieve the maximum level of efficiency, productivity and profitability gains made possible by the inspirational indications of the Supply Chain Council’s SCOR 7.0 model. It confirms that IBS Enterprise 6.0 enables users to perform best practice operations consistent with our recommendations.”.

Magnus Wastenson, CEO of IBS, comments, “We are delighted to have become the first company to pass the SCC’s Quality Assessment Review for SCOR. Many of our customers that have already implemented the SCOR methodology have generated dramatic results, using the development and analysis of key business intelligence information to significantly increase profits. This powerful combination ensures IBS users can fully exploit the SCOR model to achieve lean, agile and profitable supply chains.”

“The Review clearly indicates that IBS’ software delivers a true application of the SCOR 7.0 model principles and guidelines. It also emphasises the alignment of the entire company to the model, in terms of the education and training of our consultants,” says Wastenson, adding, “Our Business Intelligence tools are focused on delivering real-time, accurate data to our customers to ensure they know and can respond to what is happening operationally in their businesses at all times. Our integration with the SCOR model adds the ability for customers to make better and more informed decisions to improve all aspects of their supply chain.”

IBS took the opportunity to announce the news directly to Supply Chain Council members at the SCC Annual Conference in Vienna on Thursday 13th October. “The announcement of the first vendor to be acknowledged through the Quality Assurance Programme is very important to our members,” says Camerinelli. He concludes, “IBS has demonstrated the quality of its software and its people as well as its total commitment to the on-going success of the SCOR model.”
