Saajos shortens delivery times with ASP solution from IBS

News & Events 2005-01-17

IBS Enterprise Software brings more flexibility in order and delivery and shortens delivery times for Saajos, a Finnish producer of fire and safety doors.

Helsinki, Finland - 17 January 2005 - IBS, International Business Systems (XSSE IBS B) has signed an agreement with Saajos Oy, producer of fire and safety doors, to provide IBS solutions as an ASP (Application Service Provider) service. By renewing its systems, Saajos aims to achieve more flexibility in order and delivery processes, and to respond to increasing competition with faster, more efficient customer service and automation.

IBS will upgrade Saajos’ entire business software system and move it to an ASP service. The migration process will occur gradually during 2005. Increased competition in the construction sector requires advanced automation. With the improved system, Saajos will be able to reduce manual intervention both in processing and in administration, making their operations more agile and cost-effective.

“The trend in our business is that while the number of orders increases, the average size of a single order gets smaller. To keep delivery times shorter, we must react quickly to the changes in our customers’ orders. With the new system, we achieve increased flexibility, which plays a significantly important role in our operations. It has a direct effect on customer satisfaction,” says Seppo Saajos, Managing Director of Saajos Oy.

Saajos can now concentrate on their core business The new ASP solution has two major benefits. Firstly, it helps Saajos to concentrate on its core competence by reducing the burden of system maintenance. Secondly, investment costs are spread over a longer period.

“Thanks to the ASP solution, we do not have to worry about possible changes in fiscal regulations or legislation. IBS will keep programs up to date and necessary upgrades are included in the price,” says Saajos.

The ASP solution also supports Saajos’ other process areas, which will allow the firm’s Lohja factory to concentrate on producing high requirement fire protection products. The long history that IBS and Saajos share made the system upgrade process easier.

“We have been satisfied with IBS solutions, and our employees are already familiar with them. The IBS ASP solution provides us with complete software without the need for big investments,” says Saajos.
