Pharmaceutical company Sigma goes live with ASW Financials

News & Events 2004-09-03

IBS announces the successful go live of ASW Financials at Sigma’s Healthcare Division in Australia.

Sigma signed with IBS at the end of November 2003, and their go live with ASW Financials represents the first phase of their wider IBS Pharma implementation in their Wholesaling division. The total project - covering order management, customer service, distribution, warehouse management, logistics, supply chain management, financial control and management information - is expected to be fully implemented over a two year period.

Sigma’s new supply chain system, IBS Pharma - a specialised software for pharmaceutical distribution, is expected to streamline operations, cut the costs of distributing pharmaceutical products to over 3,500 chemists nationwide, and increase customer service levels.

As part of its Financials go live, Sigma has implemented ASW AP and GL - introducing online supplier invoice matching, automatic generation of inter-company balancing journals and greatly improved reporting capabilities.

Sigma expect to realise benefits in terms of improved efficiency and accuracy in their handling of thousands of supplier invoices each month, and in the delivery of management information and reports.

The on-time, on-budget implementation of ASW Financials is a positive indicator for the rest of the project. The use of insights gained from the thorough scoping work done in the lead up to the project, as well as the commitment and experience of the project team from both sides have contributed to this success.

“We are pleased that we are in step with Sigma’s progressive timetable. It is a testament to the quality and commitment of the joint team implementing the solution” says Staffan Wensing, Managing Director IBS Australia.
