Belfa implements IBS´software to optimise business processesNews & Events 2004-06-28 IBS, International Business Systems (XSSE: IBS B), has signed an agreement with Belfa regarding implementation of a new IT-solution.
Belfa’s CEO Beat Spillmann decided to further optimise the course of business with IBS’ ASW software, delivered by IBS. Selling paint and lacquers – Belfa’s main line of business - is different from selling consumer goods. It includes not only the distribution of products and administration, such as issuing invoices, but also a great deal of customer support. Customers require significant consultation, technical information and instructions regarding their purchased product packages. This pertains even more to the Swiss market, where end user demands for paint and car body repair are typically more stringent than average. Manufacturers who operate in this field often need to supply additional information, tips and tricks to ensure optimal results and to satisfy their customers. Belfa’s job is not only to distribute products for manufacturers, but also to offer comprehensive, accurate and fast support on their behalf.
Accurate warehouse control and information management In such an environment, a system that offers both accurate warehouse control and comprehensive information management is indispensable. After Belfa carried out a thorough evaluation of competitive systems, the company opted for IBS: the solution was packaged with functionality that will help Belfa live up to their motto - We accomplish more than you expect. Additionally, the professional support offered by the IBS Switzerland team, combined with the best price-performance ratio, meant that the IBS solution would meet Belfa’s complex job specifications.
With the help of IBS software, Belfa will be able to further optimize their business processes in areas such as procurement, warehouse management, product configuration (paint blending), sales, transport and logistics, financials, etc. In addition to a range of other modules, ASW NetStore will be implemented to realize Belfa’s web solution, which enables customers to place and track their own orders. Belfa also used the opportunity to upgrade their hardware and can boast of being one of the first companies in Switzerland to implement IBM’s newly announced eServer, the i5 520 system.
