News & Events 2004-03-19

IBS, International Business Systems has signed an agreement with CRAS, a Belgian company within the wood industry.

CRAS is a leading company within the wood industry in Belgium with operations in all existing wood-related industries such as import and export, production of furniture and wooden floors, wholesale, distribution and transport. The group consists of several companies and expanded even more in 2003 and 2004 with the acquisition of Kina & Kesteloot and the Betim Group, both located in Belgium. CRAS has about 200 employees and a turnover of approx. EUR 117m.

The new Supply Chain solution for CRAS is designed especially for the wood industry and is a unique ERP solution on the European market. Developed in Sweden and tailored for the needs of sawmills, the software has grown into the ultimate solution for companies in this sector. The solution gives a company or a group of companies like CRAS the possibility to improve operational levels, enable greater customer focus, increase productivity and lower costs through a high level of streamlining, standardisation and integration of processes and staff throughout the supply chain.

IBS' solution for the wood industry was chosen in competition with other international leading ERP vendors. One of the reasons for selecting IBS as supplier was their ability to take responsibility for the entire solution, including hardware, software and services. Important modules that give IBS a competitive edge was the reporting and planning tools, the production capabilities and advanced accounting capabilities.

“The new business system will surely help us implement best practices throughout our group”, says Ghislain Claus, CIO at CRAS. “We see IBS as a professional partner that will contribute to our success.”
