IBS delivers total Supply Chain Solution to North Cape MineralsNews & Events 2004-01-15 IBS, International Business Systems (XSSE: IBS B), has signed an agreement with the Norwegian mineral company North Cape Minerals, NCM. NCM is a leading supplier of industrial minerals for the steel, glass and ceramic industries. During 2003, NCM acquired the Norwegian mineral company, AS Olivin, which will be merged with NCM during 2004. NCM will, after the merger, have about 500 employees and a turnover of approx. Euro 100m.
The new Business Support System for the NCM group will improve NCM´s enterprise management capabilities on both strategic and operational levels, enabling greater customer focus, increased productivity and lower cost through a high level of streamlining, standardisation and integration of processes and staff throughout the supply chain. The implementation will involve about 150 users in Norway, Poland, Germany, Sweden and the UK.
IBS was chosen in competition with other international leading ERP vendors. One of the reasons for selecting IBS as supplier was the ability to take responsibility for the entire solution, including subcontractors.
“The new business system will help us implement best practices in the whole group”, says Sven Fagerli, CIO at NCM. “We see IBS as a professional partner that will contribute to our success.”
“The agreement with NCM confirms that we have a strong competitive edge in the area of Supply Chain Solutions for medium-sized companies. We are advancing our positions, both in Norway and internationally”, comments Georg Just, MD of IBS Norway.
