IBS in Italy signs agreement for IBS Pharma

An agreement has been signed with ItriaFarma Scarl, one of the leading pharmaceutical distributors in the Puglia region regarding implementation of the IBS Pharma solution.

IBS started to focus on the Italian pharmaceutical distribution market at the end of 2001 with the launch of the IBS Pharma solution, the vertical software customized to the needs of pharmaceutical distributors.

ItriaFarma was using a traditional vertical solution for its market based on the iSeries platform, when they became interested in the new IBS software. The Italian distributor, in collaboration with IBS Italy, defined the main aspects the new solution had to satisfy:

Match the competitive needs and requirements that characterize pharmaceutical distribution (such as the traceability of products). A web-enabled software and a solution ready to be used in order to open ItriaFarma's supply chain to the e-business needs. The possibility to integrate part of the software for quality handling in the new solution. Software that could permit fast and easy access to data and information with an integrated tool for Business Intelligence. Reliable software designed specifically for the needs of pharmaceutical distribution, and an IT partner with the experience of worldwide installations and solid industry references such as Galexis. Advantages, also during the implementation phase, of a scalable and slender ERP system in order to guarantee a high Return on Investment.

Before choosing IBS software, ItriaFarma wanted to evaluate the level of satisfaction of the main requirements by IBS Pharma. The company asked to visit one of IBS' customers that were already using the solution. ItriaFarma had the chance to see IBS Pharma implemented in Galexis, a Swiss pharmaceutical distributor.

As a result of internal analysis and considerations in terms of satisfactions of the company's needs and the cost/benefit relationship, ItriaFarma decided that IBS Pharma was the right software. The project will be focused on the implementation of the whole vertical ERP solution of IBS, world-leading supplier of wholesale distribution and supply chain execution software.
